The Sure Shot 130u is Canon's smallest and lightest 35mm lens shutter camera with a 3x zoom lens, and offers state-of-the-art features in an ultra-compact, durable, and elegant body.
The Sure Shot 130u features a powerful 38-130mm built-in zoom lens with aspherical optics, a high-precision passive 3-point AIAF autofocus system, built-in dioptric viewfinder adjustment control, five Custom Functions, and a high-efficiency built-in Light Guide flash.
The Sure Shot 130u's powerful 38-130mm (3.4x) f/5.6-12.5 all-glass zoom lens uses high-refraction glass and aspherical optics for greater contrast and image quality and its extended zoom range enables photographers to cover a wide variety of shooting situations.
The 38mm wide-angle setting is perfect for landscapes and group shots.
The mid-range and extended 130mm telephoto settings are ideal for portraits, candids and distant subjects.

High-Precision 3-Point AIAF Autofocus System - The Sure Shot 130u uses a 3-point passive autofocus system that detects differences in subject contrast to determine proper focus on a subject and uses a CMOS photocell that switches between seven specific points in three stages based on the zoom position of the lens for more precise focusing.
The AF system of the 130u offers an automatic 3-point AF selection or a center-point selection which can be set by using the camera's Custom Function feature.
Custom Functions - A feature normally found on high-end 35mm SLR cameras, the Sure Shot 130u allows users to pre-set 5 different camera functions using the Custom Function button, and personalizing the camera based on individual shooting preferences.
Custom Function #1 allows users to turn the RT (Real-Time) release mode on or off; Custom Function #2 maintains the flash mode memory, even after the camera has been turned off; Custom Function #3 allows you to set auto rewind for film; Custom Function #4 can set the AF feature to center-point focusing; and Custom Function #5 provides continuous shooting.
Light Guide Flash System - The camera's built-in Light Guide flash automatically fires in low light and backlit conditions.
The flash provides even illumination throughout the camera's zoom range and can be set to any one of five modes, including AUTO (with and without red-eye reduction), Flash ON, Flash OFF and Slow-Sync for combining flash photography with natural light.
By using one of the camera's Custom Functions, any one of the five flash functions can be set as the default mode.
The Caption Zoom version of the Z130u adds two additional features to help you customize your pictures.
Caption Imprint - Title your pictures with a special greeting: I Love You, Thank You!, Happy Birthday, Congratulations or Season's Greetings in your choice of up to 5 languages.
